- The role of Tevye is an amazing, the most important role for me. I have long been in love with "Memorial Prayer" and was happy when Andrei Tupikov offered me to play Tevye.

Tevye is a man of incredible courage and incredible spiritual strength. It is impossible to imagine a person who would have to endure such trials as those that befell poor Tevye.
