Two-step against the backdrop of suitcases

She was in her fifties.
He's already spent half of it.
She lost her beloved husband and best friend.
He is the only friend and devoted wife.
They are connected by the memory of their common dead and thirty years of family friendship. She gives up on herself and wants to run away from the memories to another city. And he tries to prove that a common future is still possible for them, in which there may be room for love.
At the beginning of the play - a simple calculation. At the end - a vital necessity. Comedy turns into melodrama, not the most suitable genre for a story about old people. This is the eternal theme of age, loneliness and the need for love.
This performance, here in Chicago, became the last production for Gary Markovich Chernyakhovsky .
And it worked for him.
Thank you, Gary Markovich !
